Description
An easy and fun way to make candles for daily use, special occasions, or to give as gifts.
How to Make Applique Candles
- Cut wax sheets into smaller pieces using scissors or a sharp knife
- Separate the pieces and lay them on the placemat so you can see them all.
- Try out the pattern cutters: hold by the fat, gold part, press it down into the wax like a cookie cutter (you might have to press hard). Now peel away the extra wax from the cutter and save it. Push the springy punch to pop the shape out.
- Press shapes onto the candles – they stick! You can also cut shapes with scissors.
NOTES: Think about the designs, patterns, and pictures you want to make so that you know you have enough colors. before you begin. Play with all the ways to make designs: punching shapes, layering small shapes on top of larger ones, tearing off little pieces, and spreading pieces of wax using the pressure of your thumbs. Also: make sure cutters don’t roll off the table and get stepped on!
